Girl Time Again

Oh hi girls! The girls were talking, talking, talking this day ... but just wouldn't perform for the camera.

Easy going (sometimes!) Addison

Tired little Anna Marie
Here I am mentoring my young siblings. Don't worry, I'll show you the ropes around here, girls.
Still my favorite pastime!

Farm Boy in Training

Check out what Daddy brought home ... oh joy, oh joy!

Hey, who's driving this thing?
Yep, you guessed right! Farm boy in training.
Here's some indoor fun on a rainy day when Mommy was getting desperate for entertainment.
Of course I immediately started figuring out how this new toy worked ...

Here's the end result ... a Kuch camping in the kitchen.

Our neighbor, Tracy, came over with another great toy this weekend! Lots of good BOY TOYS here in Marlin. I can't wait to show my cousin Baby Scheffel some day!

Just takes a minute or two and Daddy can figure out how to operate any of these farm toys.

Oh yeah, and did Mommy mention that I sleep in my big boy bed now? Bye, bye crib. Bye, bye baby ... oh, and can you pass me the pacifier please ... :)

Friend Visit

Remember our Baergen friends in Hartline? We made a visit to play and get a desperately needed haircut for Mommy. They are always so fun and so good to us! Such kind friends.

Addison's dream come true ... all eyes on me!

The weather was perfect so we even got outside to run and play!

It's a real treat to be with friends when you are as starved for company as we are! ... but it is a special blessing to have such good and kind friends like the ones we find in Hartline!

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow? Like this. Well, this is the start of it anyway, thanks to a lot of hard prep work by Grandpa! Daddy's digging the holes for our very first tomato plants ... much rejoicing!
Mommy and I place the precious gems in the holes ...
... and we decided to plant some other veggies just for fun. Here are our bush beans ...

... and some radish seeds. These should take ... :)

OK, now fence it up, set the soaker hose (another good idea, Grandpa!) and watch it grow.

Funny (or not so funny) note ... Daddy sprinkled Preen all over to keep the weeds out since it's 'garden safe' ... funny part is that Preen kills everything BEFORE it starts to sprout. So ... garden safe, yes, but only after all the shoots are up and established. Whooops. So we suppose this will be an experiment to see how effective it is ... then probably back to the drawing board and attempt a replant in a couple weekends. At least our precious tomatoes are safe!

Oh, and you remember Grandpa's fruit trees? Here's my apple!
Addison's nectarine.

And Anna's Italian plum. All growing gangbusters!

Spring is finally here!

Girl Time

We're getting close to three months now. Just wanted to show you how cute we are ... and yes, still different as night and day! Oh yeah, and check out all our sweet outfits. :)
Sleep time.
Awake time!

Which becomes sleep time ...
And then more awake time. Add in a load of meals, diaper changes, some crying, carrying, cradling, a few smiles and a bath now and then, and you've got our life to date in a nutshell. Oh yeah, and a few sessions of dress up here and there. This one is for our favorite auntie who gave us these sweet little outfits. Also representative of our other favorite aunties who appear personally or via their very kind gifts on our blog.

Here's looking at you babe. Addison, what exactly are you doing?

Skuutin' to Freedom ... or So I Thought

When Mommy packed up the girls to go for a walk (little sardines pictured below) and I went right along for the ride, she thought this was the first step to her freedom in actually getting out for some daily exercise. We kept a good pace together. Turns out my strong will didn't allow for more than one of these 'walks of freedom' for Mommy, however. Now, if she doesn't go where I want her to go, there's a price to pay and it's NOT pretty! That silly Mommy, she should know by now who's in charge around here. Well, it was good while it lasted. Here are my sisters packed in their awesome stroller (that cost only HALF an arm and a leg, thanks to Uncle Pete and Jodi!).
One of my favorite things to do on the skuut is to point out the various 'highlights' of our journey. Turn up the volume to hear what I discover in dry, flat (thank God) piles all along the way. Nope, it's not the city folks. All country here.

Here's a quick glimpse of my gliding. Do it all the time.

And check out what Uncle Scot and Aunt Sarah got for me. Thanks guys! For several days afterward, I wore the gear to read and do various indoor tasks too.

Oh yeah, and can't forget about my routine chores around the ranch.

Lovin' the Yard Art

Grandma and Grandpa got me the coolest tractor ever for my birthday. (Sorry a bit late on this post!) Some assembly required ... perfect!

And here's our finished product, folks!
Let's give her a test run in the yard.

Her final resting place. Nice, very nice.
