Campfire Fun

Here's where Papa belongs after a hard week's work, sitting by the campfire.
Time for the guys to join him ... while the gals prepare all the fixins.

Girls want to join in the fun.

Gang's all here. Brats on sticks.

And top it off with our favorite dessert! ... right by the side of my favorite Grandma!

Cleansing Fire

Seems we just keep accumulating junk around this place ... here is the latest collection of vehicles, most a huge retrieval and clean up effort (in all our spare time) just to salvage or give away.
And then there's the shed ... shot of the first bay looking left just inside the door:
... and looking to the right ... and this is AFTER 4 months of 'clean up' / cherry picking by the other involved party:
Second bay:

View with mattresses removed:
Insulated canning room with food (and other!) from 1970's:

Fruit remains from Bill's grandparents ... neatly organized back in their day ... pure poison some 30+ years later!

Grandpa worked tirelessly in the worst of conditions (aka hanta virus) to pull out the contents, item by item, and sort them into piles: garbage dump, appliances, scrap metal or burn pile. Daddy dug a big hole for the burn with the bulldozer ... and performed an 'impossible' dozer repair to make sure the job was complete.
Here's the first pile to burn ... yep, outhouse included!
Pushed into the hole ... any last words?
Oh ... and don't forget to remove the old abandoned cars and horse trailer too ... each one also filled floor to ceiling with junk (and hanta virus).
Missed a shot of the first burn (now ashes) ... bummer. But this is round/pile number two, pushed into the same hole to be burned.
Appliance pile (added three more freezers before the whole lot was hauled off).
Bill's inheritance ... ready to light the match baby?
Cleansing fire ... burn baby burn. And this is all that remains of two trailer-sized piles of junk. Fire, what a wonder.
Old International pickup loaded down and ready for a run to the dump ... that will be $118, thank you.Grandpa and Daddy worked hard to reclaim this place ...

Can hardly believe this is the same shed? Actually a very nice building inside. Who ever would have known! Remaining items of value to be sorted and kept, sold or given away. Grandpa wants to set up shop upstairs in the loft ... he certainly deserves it after his clean up effort up there! Let's take a peek.
And so this is where we may find Grandpa one day, upstairs in his newly cleaned attic. :) Thanks for all your hard and dirty work, Grandpa! And Grandma too with your 24-7 100% effort with the kids and the house! Where would we be without all your help? We so appreciate your willingness to help us tackle huge tasks around here. Thank you, thank you!

Spectator Sports? ... Not in This House

Gjraah and Papa came back to visit me early in October! One of our favorite evening pastimes is watching "Dancing Stars" ...

Of course, there are very few spectator sports in our home. Watching "Dancing Stars" is NOT one of them!

Grandpa doesn't get to be a spectator here either ... it's all hands on deck for Anna's appointments. Here she is, waiting to get fitted for her new little pink helmet. Doc said it's the smallest one he's ever made. She may be little, but she packs a punch!See, she's not worried! Grandpa must be giving her the pep talk.
"Ads" likes to listen to what Grandpa says too. He's probably coaching her on a good athletic stance here.

Anna's back home and ready for the BSU game! Go Broncos!

Oh man, if Daddy and Grandpa knew the things Grandma teaches me when they're outside working!!! Careful Grandma, you might get 'culled' from the herd someday. ;)
That's okay, we won't tell ... sure was fun while it lasted ... and probably less threatening to my manhood than Uncle Pete's leotard stunt when he was a boy! ;)

OK, so there you go, no spectator sports here. We require full participation from every family member at the Kuch home. Visit at your own risk.

Little Dolly Dress Up

All dressed up with nowhere to go ... here are my pretty sisters on September 22 when we made a visit to our dear Baergen friends in Hartline. You remember sweet Jocelyn? She dressed my sisters up and directed the photo shoot. Dresses are from our sweet aunt Annie! Oh so fun to be girls! ... and such cute ones at that.

Mommy was determined to get some shots of her own at the ranch, so this was photo shoot #2 back home later that weekend.

And isn't our 'background' stunning in the fall? Hard place to like some days ... hard place to dislike some days. :)

Oh yeah, and before we get carried away with too much 'girlie', here's a shot of Daddy and me on the bike doing boy stuff. Vrrooom!
