Outside, Oh How I Could Live Outside

Hmm Caleb, what have you been eating?

Look, it's a plane on a train. Weird things happen out here in a small town.

Mommy put a tub of water on the deck for me to play with.
I was FASCINATED by this nozzle. Had it on my face, in the air, on the ground to make dirt and puddles ... even managed to accidently open it up a couple times and give myself a good face bath ... surprise, yikes! At any rate, Mommy took me inside after a good hour of this and I showed just how strong my will was ... I did NOT want to go inside! Gave Mommy a good 30+ minutes of screaming bloody murder at the top of my lungs. Finally landed me in the crib. Aw, dang.

And boy was I beat after all of THAT!

Can You Hear Me?!!!

Mommy tried to catch me working my pump like Grandpa taught me, but I had something to tell her instead!

I like to communicate when I eat too ...

... and just in case you can't hear or don't understand, I'll speak up for you ... no problem with that! Oh dear.

And when I want down, no worries, I'll let you know.

Oh, and I've been doing this funky head shake thing and making myself dizzy while I'm playing. Weird. Well, I AM advanced ... maybe it's some strange way of tapping into my intellect. :)

A Farmer's Work is Never Done

Signs of life on the ranch ... spring is springing ...

First tulip ... kinda scraggly ... but hey, it's pure beauty out here!

Buds on their way OPEN!

I would live OUTSIDE if Mommy would let me. :)

Unbelievable how much I look like Daddy at this age! That's good cuz he's a pretty handsome guy!

Supervising Daddy's work. Looking good ... a little more to the west now, Daddy.
Feed lot and cattle hub turning into pasture. Lot of hard work for Daddy, but we're getting there! Daddy took me for a ride in the tractor! ...
... hey, who is driving that thing? Don't let Mommy see!

The 'rock drop shoot' is one of my new favorite games outside. I can do it over and over and over again and still get a laugh out of it. :)

Let's Dance! ... and Sing!

At Grandma's request, here's a look at my 'jukebox trick'!

Yes, Mommy had some color coordination challenges this morning when she dressed me. :)

In the Box

Grandpa put me 'in the box' when no one was looking. He likes to find 'low impact' ways of babysitting. :)

OK, so here I am getting in and out of the box with Mommy's help ... after she told Grandpa not to teach me things like this. Guess Grandpa's influence is stronger than we all realize at times. :)

Later the same day, making progress ... (you'll have to overlook the annoying demonstration by Mommy :) ... wasn't intended to be captured on film).

And just to show you how determined I am ...

In and out ... nearly on my own! Bring on the next challenge!

Easter and Surprise Retirement Party

Moved in and mostly furnished ... ready for company now.

Because Scheffels are involved, there must be some type of competition before dinner. Here's the BEFORE photo for the rope climbing event. :)

And the AFTER ... uuugh ...

Grandpa's retirement party

Our guest of honor.
Uncle Scot says thanks to Grandpa for being a man of his word.

During high school, Uncle Pete almost voted Grandpa off the island ... but now says thanks for helping keep him on the straight and narrow in spite of all the negative influences that surrounded him. Good lessons learned.

Grandma's photo journey down memory lane. We sure love my grandpa! Grandma too!

My first Easter basket!

Here's the most efficient way to get the eggs out of the basket. Grandpa would be proud. Maybe I'll become an engineer. :)

I sure like Grandpa's raspberry dessert!

Hmm ... look what I found in the garbage after dinner ...

Fun with Uncle Scot!

Home, Home on the Range

I love to go outside in my new wagon and work with my tools.

Farm boy! ...
... travelling in style!
Oh, and this is my first pet, Dino.
