Dirt Bag

Irrigation issues (wouldn't you know) and Daddy had to work today. Guess who helped Mommy and Grandpa Melvin change the lines this morning.

Daddy's Helper

Changing handlines with Daddy. I'm such a good help. Mommy still thinks it's crazy to see a 1-yr-old meandering about 13 acres without any adults closer than several hundred feet at times. This time I happened to be right by Daddy's side!

Daddy makes this look easy. You should see when Mommy tries.

Checking the lines. Systems go.

This is a boy's dream ... acres of dirt and water ... and a good bath to finish out every single evening. Oh what fun!

Jumping the Skuut

Doesn't get any cuter, eh?

Not sure who has more fun in this arrangement, Mommy and Daddy or me? Mommy takes credit for this game ... but Daddy got the honors for the camera (and for the next two hours!). Can you hear my motorcycle noises?

Sometimes I use my fork just as an assist ...

And sometimes I'm too hungry to work with the silly thing and I have to just get 'er done.

Doing the Dishes?

Yes, this is indeed the dish rack from the floor of the dishwasher. I disappeared for awhile while Mommy and Daddy were visiting in the kitchen. When they came looking for me, this is what they found. I can turn nearly anything with wheels into some sort of car.

This is the new bath game I taught Mommy. She doesn't know it, but I am in complete control of the game ... I give the trigger signal and Mommy must obey with the desired response!

Headphones are the BOMB

First experience with headphones and a little country music ... just plain HILARIOUS!!!

Whoa, hey Mommy, did you know music is coming out of these funny things?!

OK ... yeah ... startin' to feel the groove now ... yeah ... I'm likin' that.

OK, let's throw a few dance moves in there now ... maybe even a little audio ...

Last one ... just because Mommy thinks each of these is so hilarious ...

Oh and since I am my Daddy's boy, I need to get the mechanics of this thing all figured out before I can get on with the day.

We've Got Water!

Beginnings of life in the field. Here is the 'before' with the irrigation up and running for day one. Hoping for a very good 'after' given all the long days and late nights Daddy has had to put in.

The Seed is in the Ground, Hallelujah!

Time to seed ... alas!

While Daddy's working on getting the seed in the ground ...

I'm working on setting up the irrigation system. :)

Whoa ... oops. Took one for the team.

This is what I ALWAYS do to Cody's water dish. Poor Cody.

A Fork and a Four-Wheeler

Hey Grandpa, thanks for the fork! I use it all the time now.

A visit to the Baergen's in Hartline ... this is quickly becoming a weekly highlight for us. Look how nice Jed is to take me for a ride.

He takes good care of his little sister too.

And she's fortunate to have another really great big brother (a sister too ... not shown)!
Here I am after I managed to climb on all by myself ... even found the gas peddle and startled myself a few times with some forward motion. This thing is FUN with a capital F! Thanks Baergen's for sharing your family (and your toys) with us!

Tools

Oh boy, now that I know where these are kept, I hang on the closet doorknob and beg Mommy to get the tools out. It's like Christmas when the box is opened! ... next best thing to being outside working with Daddy.

Usually becomes more and more destructive as my confidence grows. :) Hopefully NOT a foreshadowing of what's to come, says Mommy.

Yard Work

Mommy missed the ice cream 'mauling' ... but caught the more kind and gentle begging with the cream cheese. Who eats cream cheese like this anyway, crazy Daddy?

Helping Daddy mow our new patch of lawn.

You won't ever find me too far away from my Tonka. How I love that thing! When Mommy wasn't looking, I surprised her from behind and drove right through her legs while she was bent over weeding. Also had a few laughs ramming into her legs ... ha, ha. She's a total pushover at times. Must have learned it from Grandma.

Mommy didn't catch it on camera, but I showed my smarts by seeking out the 'paths of least resistance' that Daddy created in the lawn with the mower.

Free loader ...

Ham Bone

Mommy thinks I'm a ham bone. Sometimes I'm not sure whether I'm coming or going.

Mommy tries to put clothes on me after my bath ... but I usually manage an escape!

Rockin' out to Alan Jackson's song: Good Time. Yeah, turn it up!

I was so excited Mommy gave Sidney new life with changed batteries! Oh how I like Grandma's Christmas toy.

I like to hold her hands while she sings/dances for me now ... though I got a little aggressive with the poor squirrel on the last go 'round. Oh dear.

Just Playing

You see the strangest things at Walmart! :) ... Mommy has to keep me entertained so I'll let her get the shopping done! ... sometimes the Walmart run can be incredibly painful by the time we reach check out! ... uuugh! Oh how we need Grandma and Grandpa close by.

Can't get enough of that Skuut ...

Here's a new 'trick' you can try at home.

And, back to my favorite pastime ...

A Friend Visit in Spokane

Though a couple days 'on the road' can be exhausting for Mommy, we sure LOVE visits to our dear gracious friends and hosts, the Smith Family! Thanks for a couple days away from the routine and a delicious dinner, Kathy! Here are my buddies:

Hmm ... I'd like a turn please (or sometimes not so nice ... like pushing Shelby off whatever toy she's on that I'd like to play with at the time ... 'uuugh', says Mommy!).

Loaded up and headed to Teresa's to play with Etalem and Cordell!

Mommy gets some much needed friend time too ... whew!
All set up for sprinkler fun!

Here's one of the toys I pushed Shelby off ... well kinda ... I actually just sat right in front/on top of her so I could drive. Nice.
Kathy's influence is catching on! What beauty.

Hey, who's your gardener? ... yeah, I see ...

Always nice to finish off a visit with a good police chase. Hopefully this is the closest Mommy will come to hearing sirens associated with Yours Truly! :)
